Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about caravan and motorhome valuations, inspections, finance, paperwork, collection and payment.

Valuations and pricing

How we arrive at the figure we offer for your caravan or motorhome.

How is the price of my caravan or motorhome determined?

We start with the make, model, age, layout, equipment and condition you describe, together with current demand. Mileage and mechanical condition also matter for motorhomes and campervans. The final offer is confirmed after inspection, so include known damp, damage or missing items in your first enquiry.

Is an initial valuation the same as the final offer?

An initial valuation is based on the information and photographs you send. Inspection checks those details and the condition of the vehicle. If anything differs, we discuss its effect on the offer with you before agreeing a sale.

What should I include in the vehicle description?

Send the vehicle type, make, model, approximate year, number of berths, postcode and current condition. Mention extras, service history and known faults. For motorhomes and campervans, add the mileage and whether the engine runs.

Can I sell a damp, damaged or nonrunning vehicle?

We consider caravans and motorhomes with damp, damage or other faults individually. Describe the problem and send clear photographs. Tell us whether the vehicle can roll, steer or be towed, so the practical collection requirements can be discussed before an appointment.

The selling process

What happens from your first enquiry through to inspection.

How long does it take to sell my caravan or motorhome?

Timing depends on the vehicle details, location, inspection availability and the collection arrangements you agree with us. Send the information and photos together, and mention any date you need the vehicle moved by. We can then discuss a realistic next step for your enquiry.

What access information do you need for collection?

Tell us the postcode, where the vehicle is kept and whether there are narrow gates, soft ground, steep approaches or limited turning space. If it is in a storage yard or on a site, mention opening hours and any permission needed for access.

What happens after I agree to the next step?

We arrange an inspection and discuss the vehicle details with you. Once the condition and final offer are agreed, we confirm the payment, paperwork and collection arrangements. Make sure any accessories included in the sale are agreed too.

Why does the vehicle need an inspection?

Inspection confirms the condition and details used for the valuation, including any issues that are difficult to assess from photos. It also helps establish how the vehicle can be moved. We discuss the findings with you before the final offer is agreed.

Finance, paperwork and payment

Settling outstanding finance, the documentation and how you get paid.

Can I sell if it is still under finance?

Tell us about outstanding finance at the start. We can discuss how settlement could form part of the sale and what information is needed from the finance provider. Any settlement arrangement needs to be confirmed before the transaction is completed.

Which documents should I have ready?

Gather any proof of ownership, service records, manuals, keys and registration documents you have. CRiS documents may be relevant to a touring caravan, while a motorhome or campervan has vehicle registration paperwork. Tell us about missing documents early so the requirements can be discussed.

How is the sale paperwork handled?

We discuss the paperwork required for your vehicle and the agreed sale with you before handover. Check that the vehicle details, agreed price and any included equipment are recorded correctly, and keep a copy of the completed documents for your records.

How and when is payment arranged?

Confirm the payment method and timing with us before collection. The arrangements should be clear before you complete the sale. If payment is by bank transfer, check your own bank account to confirm receipt of the agreed funds.

Deciding whether to sell

What to send, what an enquiry means and how to discuss a change of plans.

Does requesting a valuation commit me to selling?

No. The initial valuation enquiry is free and carries no obligation to accept an offer. Ask about the valuation, inspection and collection arrangements before deciding whether you want to proceed.

Which photos should I send with my enquiry?

Send current photos of the front, rear and both sides, the living space and any known damp or damage. A wider view and a close view help explain a fault. Send photos on WhatsApp with your name, vehicle details and postcode so we can connect them to your enquiry.

What if my plans change after we have discussed a sale?

Contact us as soon as possible if you want to change the timing or reconsider the sale. We can discuss the next step based on what has already been agreed and whether an inspection, collection or paperwork has been arranged.
